TextFAQs Help
FAQs is a single point of access for Fairfax County Frequently Asked Questions. Either the Browse tab or the Search FAQs tab can be used to quickly locate Fairfax County FAQs on many topics.
Browse
Use the Browse tab to see a folder list of the Fairfax County FAQs arranged first by subject category and then by topic.
- FAQ subject areas are shown in folders on the left.
- Open a folder to see the FAQ topics for that subject.
- Click a topic to get a list of the FAQs displayed on the right.
- Click on a title to go to the multi-purpose page which links to the FAQ. Related FAQs which might be of interest are also listed here.
Example:
To see all the FAQs about pet adoption, click Animals, then click Adoptions. "Q01147 - FAQ:What do I have to do to adopt a pet?" will be displayed on the left.
Search FAQs
Use the SearchFAQs tab to find a FAQ on a specific topic. To get better search results, add search criteria:

- For Solutions Containing Type search words here.
- Categories Search in "All Categories" or limit the search to one category.
- Using Search for an exact phrase or a combination of words.
- Search Choose where to look for the search words in the FAQ. Article Id is the FAQ number, e.g., Q10147.
- Maximum Age Limit the search to FAQs of a specific age.
- Click Go to search.
- FAQ titles will be shown with the search words highlighted in yellow.
- Click on a title to go to a multi-purpose page which links to the FAQ.You will also see any Related FAQs which might be of interest listed here.

General Navigation
The default display will show 10 FAQs per page. This can be changed by selecting a different page count in the box (e.g., 15/page) and clicking Update.
