Saturdays at ECLP

  • Tour the Walney Visitor Center and see live animal exhibits, and then explore the historic features on the grounds around Walney house.
  • Enjoy a relaxing picnic lunch under the shade trees on the lawn.
  • Take a cool stroll under the trees along Walney creek down to the bridge over Big Rocky Run stream.
  • Look for beavers and other wildlife from the boardwalk at Walney Pond and enjoy fishing from one of two platforms.
  • Complete your visit by listening for bird songs on a short hike back to the Visitor Center along the ridge trail.  With luck, you may see the wild turkeys that inhabit the park!
  • Recharge with snacks and drinks available for purchase at the Visitor Center.
  • Purchase a unique souvenir at the gift shop to remember your adventure.
