Summer Entertainment Series
Autumn comes and Fairfax County Park Authority's 2016 Summer Entertainment Series has ended. Sites throughout the county rocked to jazz, folk, klezmer, zydeco, classical, bluegrass, international dancing and more. We rollicked with puppets, storytellers, and clowns and screened family-friendly movies. This year, our performances and movies at our many venues was enjoyed by all, whether 6 or 60. Saturday mornings were devoted to children's programs; evenings presented a wide range of musical and dance ensembles and weekends featured movies by starlight.
For this, we extend heartfelt thanks to all our performers, volunteers and sponsors. Although there is in-kind support from county sources, no Fairfax County tax monies were spent. Our sponsors covered it all and our volunteers made it happen. Because of them, we are able to provide a truly wide-ranging program for the wonderfully diverse population of Fairfax County.
This Sunday evening performance series, held at Frying Pan Farm Park's Visitor Center, showcases some of the best of local and regional Bluegrass musicians. Shows are held on selected Sunday evenings. Doors open at 6 p.m., Shows start at 7 p.m. Seating is general admission.
