This Public Information Meeting will feature a presentation about the site's existing conditions and the park master planning process. Following the presentation, the meeting will continue with an informal moderated public discussion session to identify community concerns, answer questions, and receive suggestions for future park features. This meeting allows for the public to identify issues and uses to be considered by the Park Authority in developing the draft Master Plan.

Have a picnic
Enjoy the riverside picnic area with grills or relax on the deck overlooking the Potomac River. Grills provided, bring charcoal and matches. Snacks, ice cream and drinks available for purchase.
Take a hike
Tucked away in a remote river setting, Riverbend Park has 418 acres of forest, meadows and ponds. The 10+ miles of trails include a 2.5 mile portion of the Potomac Heritage Trail linking Great Falls National Park and regional parkland.
Visitor Center
Take in the new exhibits: visit with the animals, touch rocks that were part of an ancient ocean floor, and view local Native American artifacts.
Play a game!
Volleyball (net and ball), corn hole, ladder golf and scavenger hunt available for rent.

Tucked away in a remote river setting, Riverbend Park has over 400 acres of forest, meadows, and ponds. Trails include a 2.5 mile portion of the Potomac Heritage Trail linking national and regional parkland. Kayakers and canoeists can enjoy exploring many islands in the Potomac River. Serious anglers and families can bring a boat or fish from the shady riverbank. Nature highlights include spectacular river views, beautiful wildflowers and birds. Park grounds are open from 7am to dusk, hours posted. Gates are locked at closing time.
Facilities include a visitor center with snack bar, gift shop, exhibits and riverside picnic area. The park also has a nature center which is available for rent call 703-759-9018. The park's picnic shelter is available by reservation. Call 703-324-8732.

River Information The upper Potomac River from Riverbend Park is a perfect spot to launch a canoe, kayak, or jon boats. NO jet skis, big boats, or tubes are permitted in this shallow rocky section. |
Programs/Events Riverbend Park offers programs, classes, and tours for all ages; with programs for school groups, scouts, families, and individuals. Don't miss the annual Virginia Indian Festival! |
Visitor Center A great place to take a break. Center includes self-guided activities for children, live animal displays,natural and cultural exhibits, snack bar, ice cream and gift shop. Public restrooms are located on deck of visitor center. |
