The Fairfax County Public Library celebrated a successful outreach to displaced and homeless children in Fairfax County who received a backpack full of books and fun stuff to support early learning. Many thanks to the Fairfax County Public Schools’ Homeless Liaisons Office and the Fairfax Library Foundation for its generous funding of books and other items in the backpack. Sixty packs were delivered to five shelters including Katherine K. Hanley Family Shelter, Embry Rucker Community Shelter, Next Steps/Facets, Patrick Henry Family Shelter and Homestretch.
