CALL TO ORDER

Commission Chair Crawford called the Wednesday, February 3, 2021 Commission Meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.

Approval of AgendaIt was moved by Commissioner Bell-Krasner and seconded by Commissioner Salinas that the February 3, 2021 Agenda be approved as amended.  The motion passed by unanimous vote.

Approval of Minutes:  It was moved by Commissioner Alber and seconded by Commissioner Bhinge that the December 16, 2020 Minutes be approved as presented.  The motion passed by majority vote with Commissioners Solon, Salinas, and Conde abstaining.

STAFF ISSUESThe Commissioners received the December Monthly Report.

 

COMMISSION BUSINESS

 

HRC# 2020070H – FIR -- It was moved by Commissioner Bell-Krasner and seconded by Commissioner Solon that this complaint be dismissed due to insufficient evidence that a violation of the Fair Housing Act has occurred consistent with the recommendation of OHREP.  The motion passed by unanimous vote.

 

HRC# 2020112H – FIR -- It was moved by Commissioner Bell-Krasner and seconded by Commissioner Solon that this complaint be dismissed due to insufficient evidence that a violation of the Fair Housing Act has occurred consistent with the recommendation of OHREP.  The motion passed by majority vote, with Commissioner Alber abstaining.

COMMUNITY CONCERNS

 

Outreach Events – The Commission would like a list of events in advance.  Deputy Director Patricia Stephan-Fawcett stated that in the next commission packet there will be an updated list of events.  Housing and Outreach Manager Mary Soliman mentioned that the office is working on a new newsletter that will be on the county’s website; a link will be provided to the Commissioners once the newsletter is updated.

 

PENDING BUISNESS

Commission Training Date -- Director Ken Saunders stated that there will be Commission training sometime in March.  The training will take place either the first Wednesday or the third Wednesday of the month.  Deputy Director Stephan-Fawcett will update the Commissioners on a specific date during the next meeting.

 

NEW BUSINESS There was no New Business.
