All Rec-PAC programs are inclusive, however targeted sites are designed to provide kids with disabilities the opportunity to engage in a variety of recreation activities with peers without disabilities in large group situations. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations, in the form of a written plan, are provided at all Rec-PAC locations; however the targeted inclusion sites are the only locations that provide additional support staff and lower ratios. Inclusion staff at the targeted sites, including the site director, serve to provide support to the various groupings (grades 1-2, grades 3-4, and grades 5-6) based on need. All other Rec-PAC site ratios are 1 staff person per 18 children.

 

Planned activities are selected to provide opportunities for the individual to socialize and interact with peers, increase or maintain physical fitness levels, learn new leisure and recreation skills, and have fun in a recreation environment.
