On November 16, 2018, the Fairfax County Police Department arrested a former licensed practical nurse contractor who had worked at the Adult Detention Center (ADC). Christopher Chimera was charged with one count of sexual battery for inappropriate contact with an inmate in December 2017. The victim reported the incident to the police on October 18, 2018. 

Chimera was an employee of Maxim Healthcare Services, which has a contract with the county. The Sheriff's Office uses contracted nurses to temporarily fill vacancies within the ADC medical section. Chimera last worked at the ADC in August 2018.
