A three foot diameter oak tree dominates this cemetery which is located near the northeastern corner of the lot and west of the pipeline. There are several fieldstones and the fallen gravestones of MARY A. GOSSOM (1803-1882) and ROBERT SHERMAN (1848-1851). There is also evidence of a domestic site about 100'-150' to the northeast. MARY A. GOSSOM purchased 31 acres from JAMES & SALLY ADAMS on May 19, 1857 (recorded April 21, 1859, Db B4:59).

Comment: Inscription "IN MEMORY OF MY MOTHER....Sweet is the sleep my mother ì takes, Till in Jesus Christ she wakes. O mother dear a short farewell, ì That we may meet again above. She was a tender mother here.

ROBERT SHERMAN
Birth: NOV 22, 1848
Comment: Inscription "A flower lent but not given to die on earth Did bloom in ì Heaven."
