Enhanced Security Features

The Fairfax County Office of Elections is committed to maintaining accessibility, security and accountability in the absentee ballot process for county voters who choose to vote by mail.

Current Voting Equipment

In 2025, the Office of Elections received new voting equipment as part of a comprehensive replacement of the county's decade-old voting equipment. The new equipment has increased speed in all its functions and has added security features. Additionally, because our equipment vendors have not changed, the experience of the voter has remained unchanged.
