The Northern Virginia Soil & Water Conservation District is saddened to announce the passing of board member Sally B. Ormsby on September 15, 2008. Sally served the district for almost 10 years, lending her determination and enthusiasm to projects ranging from youth programs to state-level environmental committees. She will be remembered for how thoroughly she lived the concept of stewardship, for her special passion for parks and the environment, and as the capable force behind many initiatives.

A memorial service for Sally has been scheduled for Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Providence Presbyterian Church, 9019 Little River Turnpike, Fairfax, VA 22031.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests a tax-deductible donation to the Northern Virginia Soil and Water Conservation District for the Sally B. Ormsby Memorial Fund, which will be used in Sally's honor for conservation programs.
