Investigation Review Status
In addition to responding to public complaints, the Office of the Independent Police Auditor monitors and reviews Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) internal investigations into:
officer involved shootings
deaths while in custody of the FCPD
use of force cases resulting in death or serious injury
other use of force cases when a public complaint is received
Note: OIPA releases reports within 60 days of having access to the completed FCPD IAB investigative file, except where cases are jointly reviewed by the Auditor and the Panel.
