The cemetery is situated just east of Forestdale Elementary School on land that was once part of "Oak Grove Plantation.", built c. 1825 by JOHN H. BRODERS (1798-1860). The house which stood at 6541 Franconia Road was razed in 1996 to make way for Sunrise Assisted Living of Springfield. The graveyard is surrounded by a 35'x 56' cinder block wall and a chain link fence. There are 11 remaining headstones and an undetermined number of unmarked burials present. There are fragments of gravestones and a few bases scattered about the site.
