Deputy County Executive David J. Molchany

Deputy County Executive David J. Molchany's group is composed of the following areas:

The deputy county executive:

• Reports directly to the county executive
  
  
• Coordinates the activities of departments, functions and programs in the deputy county executive group
  
  
• Works with the Office of Public Affairs
  
  
• Serves on the county's Strategic Information Technology Committee and chairs the E-Government Steering Committee
  
  
• Chairs the county's Arts Committee
  
  
• Chairs the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Coordinating Committee
  
  
• Chairs the Environmental Coordinating Committee
  
  
• Works with boards, authorities and commissions appointed by the county’s Board of Supervisors including:
  • Consumer Protection Commission
  • Human Rights Commission
  • Tenant Landlord Commission
  • Library Board
  • Information Technology Policy Advisory Committee (ITPAC)
  • Environmental Quality Advisory Council
    
    

In addition, the deputy county executive is responsible for the strategic direction of the county's award winning e-government program, which includes the county's Web site, multimedia kiosks, interactive voice response systems, mobile access, Access Fairfax , cable television channel and social media channels (Get Fairfax).

Fairfax County is a leader in e-government and e-business transactions and services. The e-government program addresses the digital divide by providing multiple platforms for transactions with the county and has been successful in creating a 24-hour government, without doors, walls or clocks.
