The Zoning Administration Division of the Department of Planning and Zoning will open at 10:15 a.m. on Friday, May 5, 2017, to allow staff to attend a Division Meeting. Included in this delayed opening are the Zoning Permit Review Branch (Suite 250), Zoning Inspections Branch (Suite 829) and the Ordinance Administration Branch (Suite 807), all located in the Herrity Building. The Fairfax County Department of Planning and Zoning (DPZ) provides proposals, advice and assistance on land use, development review and zoning issues to those who make decisions on such issues in Fairfax County. The agency consists of three divisions. The Zoning Administration Division (ZAD) enforces, maintains and administers the provisions of the Fairfax County Zoning Ordinance and Noise Ordinance.   The Zoning Evaluation Division (ZED) is charged with processing all zoning applications submitted to the County, and formulating recommendations to the approving bodies. The Planning Division (PD) maintains the Fairfax County Comprehensive Plan and processes all suggested and required amendments to the Plan text and map; evaluates land use and development proposals for conformity with the Comprehensive Plan and measures related environmental, development and public facility impacts.
