Fighting Zika Through Rap, Yo

zika rap video

We’ve shared information for months about key ways to try and prevent the spread of Zika. There are no known cases of locally-transmitted Zika in Northern Virginia; there are cases due to people traveling overseas.

As public health officials at all levels of government continue to monitor Zika, we can all play a role in our own backyards, patios and balconies. The mosquitoes that spread Zika develop exclusively in small containers commonly found holding water around the yard.

In the spirit of sharing the message about Zika, an entomologist with our Health Department created a rap video to help make the message a little snappier. Enjoy!
