Sondra Seba Hemenway, At-Large
Sondra Seba Hemenway is honored to have been appointed by Chairman Sharon Bulova as At-Large Commissioner for Fairfax County and welcomes residents to contact her with questions, concerns or suggestions relating to the Commission’s work.
She is currently the managing partner of Seba Hemenway Enterprises, which consults with nonprofit organizations on strategic planning, program development, outreach initiatives, and fundraising strategies and implementation. Prior to her current entrepreneurial endeavor, Ms. Hemenway served as the Department of Defense’s Agency Representative to the White House Office for Women’s Initiatives & Outreach, where she coordinated many Presidential policy initiatives, domestically and internationally, to improve the lives of women, children, and families. During that time, she also served on the President’s Interagency Committee on Women’s Business Enterprise, and as senior advisor to the President’s Commission on the Celebration of Women in American History.
Ms. Hemenway recently completed a nine-year term as a board director of the Sewall-Belmont House and Museum on Capitol Hill. She was also a board director of Executive Women in Government and the Public Employees Roundtable. Ms. Hemenway is a founding member of the Euro-American Women’s Council and received their “Artemis” award for distinguished achievements that decisively contributed to the growth and advancement of economies and societies on a national and international scale.
