Fairfax County's volunteer fire and
rescue services are an integral partner with the Fire and Rescue
Department in the delivery of services to the citizens and visitors
of Fairfax County. There are 12 active volunteer fire departments
in Fairfax County. Volunteers are active operationally as
well as administratively - with nearly 300 volunteer personnel
available to provide supplemental staffing for fire and rescue
services. The volunteer companies raise funds as tax-exempt
organizations to procure fire apparatus, ambulances, and other
essential equipment and serve a vital role in the career/volunteer
system.
Your local volunteer fire department
is looking for new members. Whether you want to be on the front
lines delivering emergency medical care and fire protection
or providing the administrative support required to operate
a volunteer department there is a position waiting for you!
