	Advanced Life Support (ALS) - Emergency medical service provided by Paramedics, usually to intervene in life threatening situations with advanced skills.

	Rescue Engine - A vehicle that is equipped as both a fire engine and a heavy rescue squad. Designed to handle fire suppression, vehicle rescue, forcible entry and medical emergencies.
	Rescue Squad or Heavy Rescue Squad - A vehicle that carries tools and extrication equipment to rescue people trapped in cars, collapsed buildings or other situations. May have specialized equipment for technical rescues or hazardous materials emergencies.
