Baileys Crossroads House Fire

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire at approximately 4:40 p.m., Tuesday, July 18, 2006, in the Baileys Crossroads area of Fairfax County. The single-family home is located at 3300 Glen Carlyn Road.

Firefighters saw smoke coming from the attic upon arrival. The fire was extinguished in approximately 10 minutes. Six adults and one child have been displaced. There were no injuries.

Damage is estimated at $100,000.

According to fire investigators, the cause of the fire was accidental. An electric anomaly from an extension cord caused the fire.
