Centreville House Fire

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire at approximately 6:35 p.m., Sunday, July 1, 2007, in the Centreville area of Fairfax County. The home is located at 13301 Caswell Court.

Firefighters encountered heavy smoke coming from the rear windows and eaves on the second floor of the single-family, two-story home upon arrival. The fire started in a bedroom and extended to the attic area of the home. The fire was brought under control in approximately 20 minutes. All occupants escaped unharmed. There were no injuries. The family of six has been displaced. The family is staying with relatives.

Damage is estimated at $200,000.

According fire investigators, the fire was accidental. The fire was caused by a night light.
