Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department fire investigators charged two juveniles from the Burke area on Friday, June 29, 2007, for setting a fire capable of spreading value over $200.00, (Class 6 felony, Virginia Code § 18.2-86).
Juveniles, 13 and 14, were arrested in connection with setting cardboard boxes on fire on a balcony of the garden apartment/condominium, Friday, June 22, 2007, at 3807 Laramie Place. No injuries were reported.
Class 6 felonies can convey a term of imprisonment of not less than one year nor more than five years, or in the discretion of the jury or the court trying the case without a jury, confinement in jail for not more than 12 months and a fine of not more than $2,500, either or both.
The two juveniles were released to their parent’s custody pending court hearing.
