Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2007, in the Bucknell Manor area of Fairfax County.
The home is located at 2227 Sweetbriar Drive.
Firefighters fought fire in the attic and roof of the two-story duplex-style home upon arrival. Firefighters brought the fire under control in approximately 10 minutes. Two families, five adults and one child have been displaced. There was no damage to the adjoining unit. There were no injuries.
Damage is estimated at $50,000.
According to fire investigators, the fire was accidental. An unattended candle in the attic caused the fire.
