Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire on Sunday, September 30, 2007, at approximately 4 a.m. in the Centreville area of Fairfax County. The single-family home is located at 14528 William Carr Lane.
Firefighters saw heavy fire coming from the roof of the two-story home upon arrival. Firefighters experienced heavy fire in the attic and roof of the home. A second alarm was subsequently struck, bringing over 60 firefighters to the scene. It took firefighters approximately 45 minutes to bring the fire under control. Two adults have been displaced. The occupants were home when the fire broke out and escaped unharmed. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. The occupants are being assisted by family and friends.
Damage is estimated at $564,840. Additionally, there was minor siding damage to an adjacent home.
The fire is currently under investigation.
