A second alarm was requested, bringing over 60 firefighters to the scene. The fire was brought under control in approximately 25 minutes. Nearby downed power lines caused a potential hazard for firefighters as they fought the fire. A dog and bird perished in the fire. No one else was home when the fire broke out. One firefighter was transported for a non-life threatening injury.
Damage was estimated at approximately $335,000. The home is a complete loss.
