Fairfax Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire Saturday, April 26, 2008, at approximately 4:25 a.m, in the Great Falls area of Fairfax County. The single-family home is located at 631 Walker Road.
Firefighters encountered heavy fire in the rear of the two-story home upon their arrival. The fire started near the covered porch in the rear of the home with fire extension into most of the home. An additional alarm was requested, bringing over 60 emergency personnel to the fire scene. Firefighters extinguished the fire in approximately 30 minutes. Four adults have been displaced. Two firefighters were transported to Reston Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Red Cross assistance was not needed by the family.
Damage was estimated at $200,000.
The fire is under investigation.
