Woodlawn House and Mobile Home Fire

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire Sunday, August 17, 2008, at approximately 6:55 p.m. in the Woodlawn area of Fairfax County. The house is located at 8509 Greenleaf Street.

Firefighters encountered an abandoned one and one-half story single-family home fully involved with fire upon arrival. Fire was showing from the front of the home and extended to an abandoned mobile home nearby. The home was connected to a 14 by 70 foot mobile home, by an attached walkway with a roof. Firefighters brought the bulk of the fire under control in approximately 30 minutes. Firefighters brought the fire under control before it spread to other nearby mobile homes. There were no injuries.

The fire is under investigation.
