Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department fire investigators charged two male juveniles with damaging property by fire in a class room and lunch room in Franconia Elementary School. The fire occurred March 12, 2010, at approximately 9 a.m.
The juveniles are charged with carelessly damaging property by fire, (Class 4 misdemeanor, Virginia Code 18.2-88), maliciously setting a fire capable of spreading (Class 6 felony, Virginia Code 18.2-86), and simple assault against other students with an open flame device (Class 1 misdemeanor, Virginia Code 18.2-57).
There were no injuries or damage to property.
