Firefighter Receives Liberty Mutual Firemark Award

Lieutenant Marc Davidson has been selected to receive the Liberty Mutual Firemark Award for outstanding community service and public education, Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at 8 a.m., in the A-Level Conference Room, Massey Building, 4100 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax, Virginia. Joe McConnell, Liberty Mutual Insurance, will make the presentation at the department’s quarterly promotional ceremony.
Lieutenant Davidson is being honored for his unparalleled involvement within the community and his participation in various committees, teams, and projects that have produced many positive results and outcomes within the organization and local community. His initiative, commitment, and selfless attitude in helping those around him have been second-to-none.
The Liberty Mutual Firemark Award is presented annually to firefighters throughout the country who best represent their communities through courageous acts and who best demonstrate the firefighter’s selfless spirit. As a local Liberty Mutual Firemark Award winner, he will be considered for the 2011 Liberty Mutual National Firemark Award. Two national winners—one honored for heroism, the other for community service and public education—will each receive a $10,000 grant from Liberty Mutual for this organizations.
Lieutenant Davidson was assigned to the Academy during this time period. He is now assigned to Fire and Rescue Station 29, Tysons Corner.
