Fire Damages Two School Buses

Date:  December 18, 2013

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a school bus fire Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at approximately 12:30 a.m., at a school storage bus lot near Westfield High School. The fire occurred at 4700 Stonecroft Boulevard in the Chantilly area of Fairfax County.

Firefighters encountered a fully involved school bus on fire upon arrival. Firefighters conducted an aggressive fire attack and brought the fire under control in approximately 20 minutes. A second nearby school bus was also heavily damaged. There were no injuries.

Damage is estimated at $160,000.

The fire is under investigation.
