Alexandria Area Townhouse Fire

Date:  August 12, 2013

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a townhouse fire, Friday, August 9, 2013, at approximately 11:15 a.m., in the Alexandria area of Fairfax County. The townhouse is located at 6827 Beekman Place.

Firefighters encountered smoke and fire coming from the rear of the two-story townhouse upon arrival. Firefighters brought the fire under control in approximately 10 minutes. One adult has been displaced. Red Cross support was offered but declined by the occupant. There were no injuries.

Damage is estimated at $60,000.

The fire is under investigation.
