Fairfax County firefighters and paramedics will be highly visible at many Fairfax County intersections and throughout the region over Labor Day weekend, continuing their record-setting trend of collecting funds for “Jerry’s Kids.”

As a nationally recognized supporter of MDA, Fairfax County firefighters and paramedics, in conjunction with Local 2068 of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF), will be asking local residents and visitors to support this important cause. The generosity from the community allowed firefighters to collect $342,000 last year. Firefighters hope to exceed last year’s total this Labor Day weekend.

In the Greater Washington Area, Fairfax County firefighters and paramedics are the MDA’s largest contributor. Firefighters and paramedics would like to remind the residents and visitors of Fairfax County that fire apparatus and uniformed personnel will be visible over the Labor Day weekend collecting solely for the purpose of helping “Jerry’s Kids” and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

For 51 years, the International Association of Fire Fighters has strongly supported the MDA, and helped raised over $ 200 million. More information can be found at www.mdausa.org
