Through continued partnerships with private corporations and local businesses, Fairfax County firefighters and paramedics will sponsor their Eighth Annual Firefighter’s Holiday Rescuer’s Toy Drive.
The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department, in cooperation with the Progressive Firefighters of Fairfax County, Inc., the Fairfax County Professional Firefighters and Paramedics, IAFF Local 2068, have been collecting toys, games, and other gifts to be distributed throughout the Fairfax County to needy families.
Through generous support and donations from businesses, including BearingPoint, Inc., Gaylord Hotels, and Safeway, it is anticipated that several thousand children and their families will benefit from these efforts.
The Fire and Rescue Department is coordinating with Fairfax County Public Schools and the Department of Family Services to reach a record number of children this year.
The media is welcome and encouraged to report on this holiday event. Personnel will be available for interviews.
Fairfax County is committed to nondiscrimination on the basis of disability in all county
programs, services and activities. Reasonable accommodations will be provided upon request. For information, call 703-246-3801 and TTY
703-285-4419.
