Firefighters Partner to Bring New Coats to Youths

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department, in cooperation with the Progressive Firefighters of Fairfax County, Inc., and the Fairfax County Professional Firefighters and Paramedics, IAFF Local 2068, will be collecting “new coats” for youths, up through high school age, November 3, 2006, at Fire and Rescue Station 24, Woodlawn, 8701 Lukens Lane, Alexandria, Virginia. The new coats will be distributed throughout the county to needy families.

Through generous support and donations from residents and businesses, it is anticipated that several hundred youths and their families will benefit.

The Fire and Rescue Department is coordinating with Fairfax County Public Schools, the City of Alexandria Public Schools, and the Department of Family Services to reach a record number of youths this year.
