Firefighter To Receive United States Citizenship

Fairfax County Firefighter Iman Achhal El Kadmiri, Lorton resident, will receive her United States Citizenship, and take the oath of allegiance on November 16, 2006, at the U.S. District Court, 401 Courthouse Square, Alexandria, Virginia. She is a native of Spain.

Since April 2001, Iman Achhal El Kadmiri has undergone extensive criminal and national security background checks to ensure she is eligible for U.S. citizenship, maintaining the integrity of the immigration process.

Naturalization is the process by which U.S. citizenship is conferred upon a foreign citizen or national after he or she fulfills the requirements established by Congress in the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).

To become a U.S. citizen, the oath of allegiance is taken to support the Constitution and obey the laws of the U.S.; renounce any foreign allegiance and/or foreign title; and bear arms for the Armed Forces of the U.S. or perform services for the government of the U.S. when required.
