Partnering with private corporations and local businesses, Fairfax County firefighters and paramedics is sponsoring the Ninth Annual Firefighter and Rescuer Holiday Toy Drive.
The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department, the Progressive Firefighters of Fairfax County, Inc., the Fairfax County Professional Firefighters and Paramedics, IAFF Local 2068, have been collecting toys, games, and other gifts to be distributed throughout Fairfax County.
Through generous donations and support from businesses, and specifically BearingPoint, Wal-Mart, and Exxon Mobil, it is anticipated that several thousand children and their families will benefit from these efforts.
The Fire and Rescue Department is also coordinating with Fairfax County Public Schools and the Department of Family Services to reach a record number of children this year.
Media representatives are welcome and encouraged to report on this holiday event. Organizers will be available for interviews.
