Firefighters Partner to Bring School Supplies to Youths

The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department, the Progressive Firefighters of Fairfax County, Inc., Fairfax County Professional Firefighters and Paramedics, International Association of Fire Fighters, Local 2068, Greenspring Retirement Home, and Bearing Point, Inc., will be collecting and stuffing backpacks with school supplies for youths, August 20, 2007, at Greenspring Retirement Home, 7410 Spring Village Drive, Springfield. The backpacks and school supplies will be distributed throughout the county to needy families.

Through generous support and donations from residents and businesses, it is anticipated that five hundred youths will benefit.

The Fire and Rescue Department is coordinating with Fairfax County Public Schools and the City of Alexandria Public Schools to reach a record number of youths this year.
