The Fairfax County Fire Marshal provides a variety of educational, code enforcement, inspection, investigative, and technical services to the businesses, residents and visitors of Fairfax County and the towns of Clifton, Herndon, and Vienna through the following branches of the Fire & Rescue Department's Fire Prevention Division:

Fire Marshal Relocation -
 
The Fire Prevention Division (Fire Marshal) has relocated to the Burkholder Building located at 10700 Page Avenue just down the street from the Massey Building. View New Location Map

New Building Permit and Application Processes -
 
Effective October 29, 2007, fire alarm, fire suppression, and fire lane permits will be issued at the Fire Prevention Division of the Fire and Rescue Department, 10700 Page Avenue, Fairfax, Virginia 22030. The permit fee is $65.00. Plan Review fees and Acceptance Testing fees remain at $96.00 per hour, charged on the quarter hour. To expedite the process and provide “one stop,” application and payment for the accompanying building trade permit (electrical, plumbing, or mechanical) will also be accepted and issued at the Fire Prevention Division.   The Fire and Rescue Department's Public Information and Life Safety Education Section is the primary point of contact for general fire and rescue educational topics and life safety community outreach programs.
