Fire Marshal-Related Training

FIRE INSPECTOR CONTINUING EDUCATION

The Office of the Fire Marshal conducts continuing education training once every two months (bimonthly) on the first Wednesday of the month for fire inspectors certified by the Virginia Department of Fire Programs (VDFP) and the Virginia Department of Housing & Community Development (DHCD). Unless otherwise specified in the training schedule below, all continuing education training classes are approved by both VDFP (1031 recertification) and DHCD (continuing education credit).

Classes are routinely held from 6:45 a.m. to 9 a.m. in the Public Safety Conference Center on the A-Level of the Massey Building (Public Safety Center) located in the City of Fairfax. However, class dates, times and locations are subject to change due to the type of training provided or due to logistical/scheduling conflicts.

If the Fairfax County government grants Unscheduled Leave, or if the County government is closed, the scheduled training class for that day is cancelled. Although not guaranteed, cancelled classes may be rescheduled for a future date other than a first Wednesday of the month.  Get Weather and Operating Status Updates
