Fairfax County Fire Marshal provides a variety of educational,
code enforcement, inspection, investigative, and technical services
to the businesses, residents and visitors of Fairfax County
and the towns of Clifton, Herndon, and Vienna through the following
branches of the Fire & Rescue Department's Fire Prevention
Division:
The following subject areas
provide information and resources about code compliance and
fire prevention; inspection and test scheduling; freedom of
information act requests; fire prevention code permits; and
fire prevention related training. The relevant agencies and
related sites links located in the left navigation panel are
provided to make it easier for you to find information from

The Fire Prevention Division (Fire
Marshal) has relocated to the Burkholder Building located
at 10700 Page Avenue just down the street from the Massey

| New Building Permit and Application Processes
- |
| |
Effective October 29, 2007, fire alarm, fire suppression,
and fire lane permits will be issued at the Fire Prevention Division
of the Fire and Rescue Department, 10700 Page Avenue, Fairfax, Virginia 22030.
The permit fee is $65.00. On July 1, 2008, Plans Review fees and Acceptance Testing fees
increased to $128 per hour, charged by the quarter hour. To expedite the process and
provide “one stop” customer service, the application and payment for the accompanying building trade
permit (electrical, plumbing, or mechanical) will also be accepted and issued
at the Fire Prevention Division. For copies of the application, please go to
