ACCEPTANCE TESTING SCHEDULING PROCEDURE
September 2006

The Office of the Fire Marshal recognizes and understands that the ever-changing needs in our community and in our industry impact our daily business activities. In an effort to better meet those needs and provide a more structured schedule for acceptance tests, we have changed our test scheduling procedures, as follows:

1. Acceptance testing appointments may be scheduled no more than 6 weeks in advance.
2. When scheduling fire alarm and sprinkler tests, tests may be scheduled by installers only.
3. When scheduling underground fire line hydro tests from the street valve to five foot outside of building, tests may be scheduled by general contractors or plumbing contractors only.
4. To alow time to correct any punch list items, contractors are encouraged to schedule fire alarm tests at 30 days prior to anticipated occupancy.
5. Each Tuesday, appointments may be scheduled for the upcoming week.
6. A waiting list will be established for systems that have been pretested and are ready for immediate testing.
7. As cancellations occur, waiting list tests will be accepted in the order they were received.
8. Overtime tests may be requested at any time.
