Infant & Toddler Connection - (ITC) Evaluations

adults and children

Families who come to Infant & Toddler Connection of Fairfax-Falls Church with concerns about their child's development will start off with an evaluation using a standardized developmental screening test, as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics.

The evaluation screening is conducted by a Certified Early Interventionist and will help identify children who are eligible for early intervention services.

Children are eligible for early intervention services if they are 25% delayed in one or more areas of development, and/or present with atypical development, and/or have a diagnosed physical or mental condition that will likely result in developmental delay.

If a child is found eligible for participation in the Infant & Toddler program, an Assessment for Service Planning meeting is scheduled. This meeting includes the development of an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) that identifies the services and supports needed to promote the child's development and support the family in their daily activities and routines with their child.
