HOUSING ASSISTANCE - HIV/AIDS - HOPWA
The federal HOPWA program (Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS) provides services to support stable housing for persons with HIV/AIDS. Services include assistance with security deposit and 1st month's rent, utility assistance, mortgage assistance, case management, and long term rental subsidies for individuals with a diagnosis of HIV/AIDS or related diseases and their families. (The rental subsidy program, which is in the form of a special Section 8 housing voucher, is currently inactive.) NOTE: The HOPWA waitlist is closed.
