TRANSITIONAL HOUSING - ADULTS WITH MENTAL ILLNESS
Provides temporary housing and support services for Arlington County residents who are mentally ill and homeless. An emphasis is placed on securing resources and developing natural supports that will enable individuals to transition into permanent housing. Some transitional housing programs provide 24 hour supervision for formerly homeless adults with mental illness and a dual diagnosis, such as chronic substance abuse disorder or a medical condition. Individuals receive room and board, training on daily living skills, community integration, socialization, recreational activities, and linkage to entitlements, medical care, job training, and other community resources.
