TAX PREPARATION ASSISTANCE
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program is a national program sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to help families maximize their tax returns and avoid the fees businesses charge to prepare taxes. Northern Virginia CASH is a coalition of community partners who support the VITA sites in Northern Virginia. Since 2008 Fairfax County Department of Family Services has provided operational support to the coalition partners processing over 63,000 tax returns, bringing back over $100 Million in refunds to the Northern Virginia Community.

Organization Description:
Fairfax County Department of Family Services, One-Stop Employment Resource Center offers an integrated portfolio of employment and training programs for targeted populations such as ex-offenders at-risk youth, dislocated workers and under-employed or unemployed workers. Services are delivered and coordinated through one-stop employment centers, locally known as Northern Virginia Career Works Centers.
