Accuracy and uniformity are our top priority and if a factual error has been made, we will correct it. Before completing the application, please ask yourself the following:
  • Has your property been described correctly in the tax record?
  • Is your assessment similar to other assessment values of similar properties in your neighborhood?
  • When considering all relevant sales of similar properties in your area or neighborhood, does your assessment value fall in line with these sales prices?
I understand that if this application is based solely on percentage change or the potential financial impact of the new assessed value, my appeal may be denied. After the required information is properly filed, DTA will review the appeal and may request additional information and documents deemed necessary for a determination of the appeal. If the taxpayer does not provide all the documents or information requested, the appeal will be decided based on the available information known to DTA. If sufficient information is unavailable to permit an adequate analysis, the appeal will be denied.
