Crafts for the Family: Engaging Loved Ones with Memory Loss

Join Dr. Cate, Dementia Coach, as she provides an intergenerational workshop geared for the whole family who have a loved one living with memory loss. Dr. Cate will guide your family through hands on craft projects that all ages and abilities can enjoy together. A supply list will be given to participants prior to the workshop and will be items you can find at home.

Creative Engagement: How to Use Your Right and Left Brain to Improve Your Sense of Well-being

During this interactive intergenerational workshop for the family, Patricia Dubroof, creative aging specialist, will teach how to use the right and left brain to improve your sense of well-being. She will lead us in a left/right brain warm up and demonstrate a simple, hands-on art project to create individualized note cards.  For this workshop, you will need paper and either pencils, pens, or markers – or all of the above!

Presente! A Latino History of the United States

This session will be facilitated in collaboration with The Smithsonian Institute, National Museum of the American Latino. The Molina Family Latino Gallery is the first physical presence of the National Museum of the American Latino. This gallery is the first dedicated museum space on the National Mall that celebrates the U.S. Latino experience. The inaugural exhibition, Presente! A Latino History of the United States tells our national history from the perspectives of the diverse Latinas/os who lived it. Join us for an introduction to the important ideas, moments, and people that shine a light on the many ways Latinas and Latinos shaped the nation.
