TextHOT Lanes in Fairfax County
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has partnered with two private companies to construct High-Occupancy Toll (HOT) Lanes in Fairfax County and Northern Virginia.

Express Lanes (formerly HOT Lanes)
The project will create four new lanes on the Beltway and add, improve or replace such infrastructure as bridges, overpasses and sound walls. Extensive work is planned on bridges over the Beltway.
I-95/395 HOT Lanes
The project will expand the existing High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes on I-95/395 from two to three lanes and extend two new lanes south to Massaponax.
