The Virginia Railway Express (VRE) is a commuter rail service with two major lines. One originates in Manassas and the other originates in Fredericksburg-operating to and from Union Station in Washington, D.C. Five stations are available to commuters in Fairfax County.

Manassas Line:

Burke Centre Station

Backlick Road Station

Franconia-Springfield Station
6880 Frontier Drive & Fairfax County Parkway, Springfield
5100 parking spaces at $3.75 per day
FAIRFAX CONNECTOR & Metrobus, & Metrorail service

Connecting Rail Service:

VRE offers transferability to Metrorail, Amtrak (national, inter-city rail), and MARC trains.
