Forest Pests



Many forest pests in the region that do not have natural enemies aggressively feed on native trees which may cause widespread defoliation, a weakened forest ecosystem and catastrophic economic damage. In addition, there are approximately 30 types of mosquitoes in Fairfax County which may affect the health of humans. The county Health Department manages mosquito control.
